Bluetooth Earbuds are liked by many people!
Generally, quite a lot of people aren’t too fond of corded versions of these in-ear headphones. This may be due to various reasons.
These include tangling cords or maybe even the buds popping out of your ears at the slightest of movements.
Thankfully, buying the best wireless sets on the market in 2018 resolves most of these issues.
But how can you go about choosing a model associated with high quality? As you know this can be very difficult to do because you’ll have to conduct incredibly time consuming research.
What makes it worse is that high quality earbuds with a wireless feature can be expensive. This means that if you’re looking for a wallet-friendly set, you’ll automatically count yourself out.

The number one set on our list is the BlueBuds X Sport created by the well-known JayBird brand.
As expected, this branded pair of bluetooth earbuds is the most expensive one on our list. Don’t let this bring you down as some of the features of this model will truly impress you.
For example, it comes in with an efficient 8 hour battery and this can be charged through a USB cable. Once fully charged, the light on the right bud sees a change from red to green. This means you’re able to remove the set before overcharging occurs.
Bluetooth earbuds are usually targeted at sportspeople due to the lack of cords and also by ensuring a design which will remain secure no matter how intense the movement.
This is exactly how these JayBirds work. Displaying a unique sporty design which locks into your ears, the BlueBuds are ideal for any exercising activity.
If you’re planning to use these in a casual setting, you don’t need to worry as they seem to be suitable for all occasions.
When looking into the sound quality, the BlueBuds performed admirably. These truly sound like a high-end pair of earphones.
The soundstage provided is incredible with great balance. The quality of the sound doesn’t just stand out for the music but also during phone calls. You’ll be able to hear perfectly clearly while the person on the other side won’t have any complaints about clarity from your end.
Along with this, another positive point worth mentioning regarding this set is the range. I noticed that this stands at over 200 feet which is fantastic because you won’t have to carry your music device as you roam around your room.
Bear in mind that this range only stands when there are no obstructions in the way.
Like most products, these bluetooth wireless in-ear headphones have also been associated with some drawbacks.
The main negative point is the poor noise cancellation which is prevalent in this style of earphones. This means that these JayBirds don’t perform well when trying to block external noise.
Another drawback of the Bluebuds is the price. As we’ve already mentioned, this model can be costly but at the end of the day if you still haven’t found a pair of decent wireless earbuds then go for this top-of-the-range product.
The official training earbuds for the Reebok Crossfit Games 2018, The BlueAnt Pumps are bound to provide an incredibly secure fit regardless of your activity.
When assessing the design, I’d feel confident regarding the fit due to the ear hook style. There are also a number of tip sizes which in combination with the comfortseal technology will provide excellent comfort.
In my opinion this model provides a far more secure fit when compared to the JayBird BlueBuds X. In terms of durability, the rubbery material and overall sturdy yet light design really exhibits the excellence of the Pumps.
I felt that the overall design wasn’t that eye-catching but the Pumps are made for a real purpose and they do indeed find success in achieving that purpose. So if your main aim is to find a pair of wireless earbuds for intense exercise or long running sessions then go for this model.
Another huge advantage of the design is the placement of separate audio controls on both hooks so you can adjust your music by simply lifting a finger.
While the range is up to 100 feet without any obstacles in the way, this is considerably less than that provided by the Jaybirds.
Regardless of this, 100 feet should provide you with sufficient freedom to move about without having to bring your music player everywhere.
One advantage the Pumps hold over most competitors is the incorporation of Teflon coating and Kevlar shielding feature.
This provides a barrier against the entrance of most small materials the earbuds are exposed to. Examples of these include water, sweat and small pieces of dirt.
This ensures that the Pumps last longer than most other wireless bluetooth earbuds.
We’ve already spoken briefly about the overall design, fit and comfort. What about the sound quality? If I had to compare the sound quality, I’d have to say this is an important strength of the JayBirds and this is why the BlueBuds X win this round. However, that’s not to say that the Pumps were disappointing.
The sound quality of this model was quite impressive and that tells you something about the sound produced by the BlueBuds X. For the BlueAnt Pumps, I noticed the strong bass which is very important when you’re hitting the gym hard or wanting to keep going on the treadmill.
Overall, the sound was clear and crisp with a great degree of balance. This also counts for the microphone feature. However, once again there’s a lack of sound cancellation but these aren’t expensive over-the-ear headphones!
While the Pump HD is a worthy competitor against the Jaybird BlueBuds X, it doesn’t get to the same level when it comes to sound. Saying that tough, at this price, I think we can consider the BlueBuds as a top quality pair of bluetooth earbuds.
There is something incredibly unique about the Plantronics BackBeat Go 2s.
When you run out of battery, it can be highly frustrating when you wish to enjoy your music or use the hands-free feature on your cell phone.
This model comes with a charging case which will not only provide protection but also allow you to charge these wireless bluetooth earbuds when necessary. In my opinion, this is a huge advantage for the BackBeat Go 2s. However, this does put the price on the expensive side at just over 75 dollars.
It’s also worth mentioning that if you feel that the charging case won’t be required, you’re able to buy the bluetooth earbuds separately for just under $65.
Honestly speaking, there are lots of bluetooth in-ear headphones out there which have that typical sporty look. In comparison, this model has a terrific design which can be used on any occasion.
Whether it’s for use in the gym, chilling in a cafe or even coming back home from work, these will work great. The sweat- and water-proof feature exists in combination with a tough design which provides reliable durability.
When it comes to comfort, there have been many customers which have complained regarding the fit despite the inclusion of different bud sizes.
This will be a factor which will be completely unique to you because it all depends on the shape of your ears. While some people have raised this issue, I felt that the buds fitted perfectly.
The sound quality isn’t quite to the standards of the BlueBuds but you’re paying half the price for the Go 2s. Despite this, these earbuds establish an effective seal in order to block out sound and this is quite impressive for one of the best bluetooth earbuds.
The Go 2s also perform well when it comes to producing music as you’ll experience a tight bass with great clarity and balance in the overall sound.
This product truly exhibits top quality sound especially when bluetooth earbuds are known for the loss of sound quality.
As always there is a drawback for this model and this concerns the battery life.
While the product description mentions 4.5 hours of play time, I experienced this to be slightly less. However, the availability of the charging case kind of solves this problem in emergencies but it can be a major issue for some of us.
One of the cheapest wireless in-ear earbuds, the JAM Transits can even rival most standard corded models in terms of price.
Despite the relatively low price, the transmission range of the Transits is up there with the best. Furthermore, the battery life is surprisingly excellent and easily beats that of the Plantronics BackBeat GO 2s.
A unique feature of this model is the magnet link between both buds when these wireless bluetooth earbuds aren’t in use.
This means that the right and left buds form a secure magnetic connection around your neck. This ensures that when the buds aren’t inside your ear, there won’t be much of a chance of misplacing them.
If you’re worried about the fit then you’ll be pleased to learn that these come in an earhook design which will lead to a better fit.
Furthermore, there are 6 different bud sizes included which will further add to the great fit and prevent ear fatigue. Despite this, the Transits are a bit bigger than other models and the earhooks are included only to use when exercising. This means that the bulky nature of this product may lead to quite a disadvantage.
In general, the comfort associated with the Transits was decent but worsened over time.
I think that you’ll be able to wear them for a few hours without any discomfort but you’ll need to give your ears a rest after 2 or 3 hours. However, this may not occur for everyone as it entirely depends on your ear shape and size.
The sound quality associated with this model was very impressive.
The bass was great with well-balanced mids and lows but the highs can be a little disappointing depending on the genre of the music you listen to.
In my opinion, the Jam Transit is probably the best model on the market within this price range. Therefore, if you’re budget is restricted to under 50 dollars then id highly recommend this pair of wireless bluetooth in-ear earbuds.
Initially, when you look at the Avantree Sacools, this product possesses the overall design of a small headset.
To be fair, it is kind of a headset but the specifications and the earbud design will satisfy our requirements for bluetooth earbuds.
While there are no earhooks or anything to provide a secure fit, the cord actually folds around your ears. On top of this the light weight of this product ensures that you don’t even feel anything while wearing it. I felt that the fitting was great and the buds didn’t come off that easily.
The comfort was good but a major drawback is the inclusion of only 3 sizes of buds. This means that unlike most other models we’ve discussed, the Avantree Sacools wont suit everyone. This is because there’s no added flexibility offered for different ear sizes.
Despite some of the advantages discussed above, the sound quality produced by the Avantree Sacools is average. While, the sound cancelling feature did stand out, the actual sound wasn’t very impressive at all. Another problem I had was the buttons on the actual headset.
These were quite difficult to press which will be frustrating if you’re trying to carry out a function while running or exercising.
While there are clear positive and negative points of these wireless earbuds, the biggest advantages this model holds is the price.
Costing less than 40 bucks, I’d consider the Avantree Sacools to be an absolute steal. If you’re not an audiophile and simply like to enjoy your music casually, then this model will give you an incredible value for money.
These are probably my most recommended pair of bluetooth earbuds because at this price, they are just a bargain.
Over to You
As you’ve already seen, I’ve chosen to put the JayBirds at the top of the best bluetooth earbuds list. This is plainly due to the incredible performance of this model.
While the price is expensive, this could be worth it for a premium product. Despite this, I’d like to stress that all 5 models can be associated with high quality in their respective price ranges.
They all come with their own advantages and it just depends on which one you like.
If you’re looking for an amazing price-to-performance value then you should only go for one product. This is the JAM Transit which is the second-lowest priced pair of bluetooth earbuds on our list.
